Leaping Lambs Nursery & Pre School: Hosted phones and fibre broadband for a growing nursery group
Leaping Lambs moved from analogue phones and ISDN lines to hosted VoIP and fibre broadband across its Bristol and Bath sites, with one supplier for both.
- Challenge
- Each site had a different phone and internet set-up from a range of providers. The nursery had started to outgrow its infrastructure and wanted one supplier where possible.
- Solution
- We replaced the analogue phone system with hosted VoIP and the ISDN lines with SoGEA fibre broadband, first at one site and then at the nursery’s other locations.
- Outcome
- Faster, more resilient connectivity, calls that reroute automatically during an outage, and a changeover with minimal disruption to the nursery.
Leaping Lambs Nursery & Pre School is dedicated to offering a safe, secure and engaging learning environment where children can play and explore their natural curiosity about the world. The nursery now has multiple sites across the Bristol and Bath region. Placeholder: current number of sites (Q23)
The challenge
Leaping Lambs invited us to carry out a full review of its telephone and internet services.
We found that each site had a different set-up, spread across a range of providers with no consistency between them. The nursery had also started to outgrow its infrastructure, and wanted to bring its services together under one supplier where possible.
What we did
We recommended a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) phone system: subscription-based hosted telephony in place of the on-premise analogue system.
- We replaced the old phone system with a secure, cloud-managed service, and we now provide dedicated support.
- We installed new handsets, and staff can also make and receive calls on a mobile app when needed.
- Each location has its own phone number. If there is ever an outage, calls reroute automatically to another location or to a mobile.
The final step was the broadband. We replaced the ISDN lines with SoGEA (Single Order Generic Ethernet Access) fibre broadband. The nursery no longer needs a separate copper phone line, because voice and data now travel over one digital line.
We made the changeover with minimal disruption to the nursery. Once the new phones and broadband were working at the first site, we installed the same set-up at Leaping Lambs’ other locations.
The result
Leaping Lambs now has one supplier for its phones and broadband, with the same set-up at each location and dedicated support from our team.
The SoGEA connections give faster speeds and greater resilience, and future-proof the nursery’s connectivity. On the phones, automatic rerouting to another location or a mobile gives each site a fallback if it has an outage.
They offer a comprehensive ongoing support package and showed a real understanding of our requirements, helping us transform our technology.
